AUGUST PHOTOS AND HAPPENINGS
July 30th, 2009Just finished editing pictures and thought i would get in a quick blog. I’m on the ball! Packing up today to head out for a wedding in South Carolina tomorrow. I think the weather is going to be good and i will have the company of Sara so, I’m good to go!
We had a nice family and friend day at the lake this past Sunday. It was a day of rope swinging, cliff jumping, tubing, and wake boarding! I haven’t wake boarded in about 12 years so needless to say, my muscles were screaming the next day. Millie missed out of course, but Josie had a blast! It was our last hoo-rah before school.
Hope everyone with kiddo’s has started the school year off good! So far for us, 6th grade is rolling along smoothly for Josie, Millie transitioned to her new room (the 2’s) okay, with only one crying fit which nearly got to the passout point, and Shea starts his 3rd and final year of law school this year. Thank the Lord!
THE FLEMINGS
I love this family! I met Laura at a friends house for her son Chuck’s senior pictures. Laura calls me “sugar” which makes me love her even more. She is, by far, one of the nicest people i know.
I see Abercrombie in Chuck’s future.

Brother Will.

ELI AND CARTER
Next up we have Eli and his little brother Carter. Here are a few favorites!

ALICIA + JAMESON
These two people are quite possibly the nicest folks i have ever met. I loved working with them, and let me tell you they are well loved by friends and family too. They were married on Saturday June 13th, which was the same day as the Golden Eagle golf scramble. The place was packed! There were around 350 people there! It was a great wedding and they are a great couple! I was honored to be their photographer.

Alicia had DOUBLE SQEEZE engraved in his ring. He always squeezes her hand twice when he holds it. AWWWWW.

I love the emotion in this picture. He got so choked up when he first saw her.

AWWWW. I said that a lot that day.

MAX
I have known Max since he was about 4. Now he is heading to Belmont in the fall. Congrats Max!

THE THRASHER FAMILY
The Thrasher clan had me out to their family farm in Livingston to do a family session. Mr. Thrasher (the pater familias) wanted his cows in the pictures too. I loved that! We had one who posed for us.

Is that not hilarious?!

MIA ABOVE. NATE BELOW.

STEPHANIE & JONATHAN
This was one of the most unique weddings that i have seen. Stephanie and Jonathan were married on June 6th at Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory in Brentwood . The observatory was resurrected in 1953 on one of the tallest peaks near Nashville. This first shot I did,was in what is called “the star chamber”. It has an aperture in the top that allows images from the sky to be reflected onto the walls of the interior. It’s incredible when you are standing in it.

She was such a sweet soul to work with.

The ticks were awful. They actually changed the location of the ceremony from the woods, to the lawn of the observatory. Here are the faithful bridesmaids applying some “off” on the bride.

The hand carved Chuppah which is used in the traditional Jewish ceremonies. Don’t you love all of my cheesy yet informative commentaries?

The bride and her dad.

The groom and his mom. I love his brothers expression.

The brides ring, which was also a family heirloom. It has sapphires on the side.

In this shot he was sneaking a peek at the bride while she was walking with her dad.

MAZEL TOV!!!

Venturing off into tick territory.

Like father like son.
The piece de resistance was the part of the reception where the guests could actually go up into the observatory and view Saturn through the telescope. The guests were lined up like kids in a candy store (including myself). It was a fantastic sight.

Check out the scope. It was gigantic.

Bless her heart. It was about 10:00 at this point and she just couldn’t hang in there any longer.

It was time for the bride and groom to leave, but he was nowhere to be found. I failed to mention that he is a professor at Vanderbilt and 3/4 of his groomsmen were professors as well. We found them in the lobby (after a few brewskies) doing a powerpoint presentation on something crazy, like the pressure the bladder endures during urination. It was quite comical.

Stephanie’s brother was singing one last song to them before they left. Look at Jonathans face.

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N ! It started out with chaos and insanity as usual. Shea decided that he wanted to drive through the night (i was completely opposed of course) but none the less here we go. My assistant Sara and I had just finished up a wedding in McMinnville on Saturday night (it was so much fun!) at about 10:00, anyway, she dropped me off at a random gas station to meet Shea.Picture it… We pull up to the Callahan family…Millie, wide eyed and bushy tailed-Josie, ready to roll and Shea explaining to the policeman why he was going 60 in a 30. After he was let go with a very kind and understanding warning, we were off.I thought to myself, maybe we can actually pull this off! Well we made it about 5 hours down the road then Millie started crying every few minutes and Josie was moaning and groaning in the back so… we ended up spending the night in some town. I don’t even know where. We got up at about 9:30, ate breakfast and hit the road. We made it to Seagrove at about the same time we would have had we just left early in the morning. Shea still claims it was the best way to go. I beg to differ. It ended up being a great vacation. I am usually not a big beach person, but the weather was so fabulous that I had the most enjoyable time i think i have ever had at the ocean! Guess what?! I didn’t take one single picture! Yea me! We had to cut it one day short because i had to be back for a wedding but it was a good 5 day rest! I have decided i am going to try to post pictures everyday for a week instead of trying to do it all at once. So check back tomorrow too!
MILLIE TURNS 2!!
I can’t believe my kid is 2 already. Time seems to go by so fast with the second child. We had a few friends and family come over to celebrate.

MILLIE + PASSIE= TRUE LOVE

The ever present hair stroking.

SISTERS!
OF ALL OF THE MANY PRESENTS THAT SHE GOT, THESE WERE HER FAVORITE BY FAR!

CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR STEPHANIE AND JONATHAN’S WEDDING DAY.
