Oh how i am months and months behind on wedding blogging. Oh well, we have to start somewhere and I am starting with Amy and Nathans wedding awesomeness. They are such a cool couple. They LOVE the outdoors and hiking so it was fitting that they had there ceremony at Owl Creek Properties in Franklin. This happens to be one of their favorite spots… here we go into photoland….

Meet the newest member of our family! Frankie Callahan! She is AWESOME!

I have been visiting the Putnam County Humane Society (animal shelter) on a weekly bases for about 2 months. Millie (my youngest daughter) and I, fell in love with a puppy named “Blue”. He was so cute. Big, fat, clumsy, and playful. He was definitely going to be a HUGE dog when he was full grown. I went home that afternoon and consulted my hubby, who reminded me of all of the poop piles that I was going to have to clean up on a daily bases. Blue was also going to have to be an outdoor dog because of his size. It didn’t matter…I was ready to be on poop patrol and deal with barking and digging and all that goes with an outdoor doggie. Millie, Josie(my oldest) two of josie’s friends and I,went back to the shelter the next day to purchase Blue. We got there and all of the girls just thought he was adorable. We made a couple of rounds to check out the other dogs they had, and every time we would pass through the lobby, there was a cute little white dog just quietly sitting there looking up at us. Before I knew it, all of the girls had gathered in the front lobby. “we love THIS dog”. That’s what i heard for the next 30 minutes. Guess what? No Blue for us. We settled on Sally.We renamed her Frankie and brought her home. Sure, she has her quirks. She had been hit by a car previously and has a permanent limp. She is scared to death of men and she is no guard dog. Oh yeah, she gets carsick. We are working on everything but the limp! Otherwise, she’s perfect. She is full grown so she isn’t hyper, she is already potty trained, she doesn’t bark,she snuggles, she loves children and most importantly she loves me the best! Seriously we couldn’t have picked a better one. If you are thinking getting a dog PLEASE do yourself and all the strays a favor and visit the shelter. You won’t be sorry!

She looks like she has black eyeliner on! She is so cute! We love her!

Parker!!

Parker is now 6 months old. How time flies! You probably remember seeing him being born a few months ago on the blog. Well here he is in all of his baby glory!

Here Parker has his first bite of bananas! I always love getting pictures of “firsts”.

could say that the bananas were an absolute hit!

Okay I just got back from another incredible birthing session. Crosby Sheets just came into the world at roughly 8 pounds and 21 inches… Cara you did awesome! Congratulations!

Soccer 2011

Ok so my youngest child Millie has been soooo excited to start soccer this year. We had signed up to play last year, got on a team of all boys, got pushed down the very first practice, and never went back. So fresh start this year right? Pink shin guards, check. Nice new soccer ball, check. Cool silver cleats,check. Cute pink carry bag, check! Other girls on the team, check. So she gets out on the field and here we go ……. happy soccer season 2011!!!

So this pathetic face and sudden loss of all motor skills went on for the first 10 minutes…

After I had lost all hope for any sort of participation for at least this practice.. she came through! Go Millie!

Immediately after her practice, it was off to see big sister cheer a the ATMS vs. Sparta game! Brings back fond memories of Cookeville Jr. High School for me.

They didn’t win, but they played a good game! Maybe next time!

How about some dogs!

I have been sooo terrible about blogging my weddings and sessions for the past few months. I am going to try to get back into the swing here. I won’t ever be able to catch up so I will just post whatever i am feeling like for the day. Today it’s DOGS. First meet Winston Chapman..handsome isn’t he?

That sweet face derserves a treat.

Millie turns 4!

Just a quick post to say happy bday to my Millie. She had a great party with lots of little friends to celebrate with her!

Every year i usually get donuts from the best donut joint on the planet. This year I asked if they could make a giant chocolate one for the birthday girl~check it out!

First off i must say that i had a wonderful two day wedding this past weekend in Chattanooga! Thank you Catherine and Kulbeer for a great experience-more on that later. Now for some vacay photos- we just returned about a week ago from Scotland. Oh my goodness it is the most beautiful place i have ever seen! I would love to move there for a while. The people are soooo friendly and the history is amazing. Gill, which is my maiden name, is Scottish so it is such an experience to go over and see which clan that my family belonged to. The country is so sparsely populated (to compare, New York City has a population of around 8 million), the whole of Scotland has just 4 million.

We met our friends Perry and Nancy over there, and stayed in Stirling the first 4 nights at Broomhall castle. Let me go ahead and start with pictures and i will describe as i go along…

This was our hotel/castle. Pretty awesome. Below is the William Wallace monument which is perched on a hill. You can see it from most every point in the town.

The first morning that we were there, we made a visit to Stirling castle, which has so much history, from Mary Queen of Scots, to William Wallace (for those who need modern day history, he was portrayed in the movie Braveheart by Mel)

The next morning we all got up and headed east to Carnoustie so the guys could play their first round of golf. On our way out of town we stopped for a tour of the Wallace monument which was incredible. Wallace is known as the guardian of Scotland- it was unreal to see his sword. Ha, ha! Seriously ..

Ok on to Carnoustie… I have to show you these two pictures (don’t judge the swings)… these were taken at 10:30 at night. The sun never setting kind of freaked me out, there was only about 3 hours of darkness every night.

Above one of the many bartenders we encountered over the week. The next photos are of the journey (they actually say that there! “Have a safe journey”)we made up to Loch Ness.. I cannot describe the beauty of the drive there. the pictures don’t do it justice but i tried…

These guys are EVERYWHERE! If there is not a charming stone cottage that you are looking at, then you are looking at sheep.

This was the bridge where they filmed Harry Potter (when the train is on it’s way to Hogwarts). It is just out in the middle of the Scottish wilderness.

Below is a sign we found at a rest stop.

So we finally made it to Loch Ness and guess what, the castle had closed 5 minutes before we arrived. i still got a shot of the famous Urquhart castle. Castles are everywhere btw.

The next morning i got up and went for a wee walk by meself on this path, right in front of our castle. These enchanting paths are all over the place.

After my walk Nancy and I headed to Doune Castle while the guys went golfing at Troone. This Castle was so rustic-they filmed Monty Python and the Holy Grail here.

For our last two nights we traveled to Kenmore in Perthshire. When you pull into the tiny village you pass the oldest Inn in Scotland, so what do you do? Go have a drink at the pub!

Oh Yes, Scotland has the happiest dogs on earth! They all look like they are smiling! They hang out in all of the restaurants with their owners and they are all so well behaved.

This place is exactly what you would think that a Scottish pub would look like- the kilts just topped it off. Unbelievable!

At our house we had a couple of friend there to greet us.

It was time to go and I hated to leave. I got a few photos on the ride back to the airport. Can’t wait to go back!
